10 cops relieved over fake warrant robbery

Ten police officers from Tipas Police Substation in Taguig City have been relieved of their duties for allegedly serving a fake warrant and robbing a woman's house.

CCTV footage shows the officers entering the victim's home without proper identification or uniforms, claiming to serve a warrant related to illegal drugs.

The victims were physically harmed during the operation; the daughter sustained a head injury while attempting to escape from the police vehicle.

Three cellphones and P50,000 in cash are reported missing from the family's store.

Police B.Gen. Anthony Aberin ordered the dismissal of the officers who will face charges including robbery with violence or intimidation, coercion, malicious mischief, obstruction of justice, and violation of domicile.

The relieved officers have been disarmed and may also be charged for grave abuse of authority according to Taguig City Police.

An administrative investigation is underway to determine further disciplinary actions based on the degree of their participation in the illegal act, with the NCRPO assuring that the cases are 'airtight' and will ensure justice for the victims.
