Zamora's 5 police escorts sacked for ignoring Baguio health protocols

Five police escorts of San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora were sacked by NCRPO director Maj. Gen. Debold Sinas for allegedly ignoring health protocols when they accompanied the mayor to Baguio City.

The group bypassed Baguio City's border control and triage system and proceeded to the Baguio Country Club without mandatory health examinations.

Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong criticized Zamora and his escorts for defying the health safety protocols.

Mayor Zamora apologized for the incident, stating he was asleep when his convoy passed through the border and placing blame on his escorting cops.

The NCRPO is checking why Zamora had five escorts when only a maximum of two cops are allowed per VIP.

Director Sinas vowed to address the misconduct, emphasizing that law enforcers must respect and follow existing rules and regulations.

An investigation is underway, and the five police officers involved have been ordered to submit written explanations for their actions.
