Zamboanga City COVID-19 cases climb to 260

Zamboanga City's total COVID-19 cases have reached 260 with the addition of seven new cases as of Wednesday night.

Of the seven new cases, two were from the community, one was a locally stranded individual (LSI) from Manila, and four were freed persons deprived of liberty (PDLs).

The four former PDLs were quarantined at the Zamboanga Economic Zone Authority (Ecozone) before integration into the community.

The city's total mortality count remains at eight, with 174 recoveries, leaving 78 active cases.

One of the new cases is a 30-year-old asymptomatic LSI from Manila who arrived on July 2.

Another case is a 58-year-old female from Tetuan, admitted to ZCMC with fever, cough, and Chronic Kidney Disease, who is undergoing hemodialysis.

A 27-year-old symptomatic female from Zambowood is also isolated at the Ateneo de Zamboanga University (ADZU)-Lantaka Isolation Facility.
