WNCAA season 56 opens Sept 6 at Makati Coliseum

The 56th season of the Women's National Collegiate Athletic Association (WNCAA) is set to begin on September 6 at the Makati Coliseum.

Assumption College San Lorenzo is hosting this year's tournament with the theme 'Breaking Barriers, Building Legacies'.

The league aims to break gender stereotypes and serve as a platform for women's athletic skill, courage, and determination.

The opening ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m., followed by basketball matches.

Featured games include Assumption College vs. Assumption-Antipolo, University of Santo Tomas-Angelicum College vs. St. Jude Catholic School, and Centro Escolar University vs. University of Makati.

Volleyball and basketball 3x3 tournaments commence on Sunday, September 7, with futsal also starting on the same day.

Sixteen schools are participating in the league, which also features competitions in chess, badminton, swimming, taekwondo, poomsae, table tennis, tennis, cheer dance/cheerleading, and street dance.
