VP Sara endorses Imee Marcos for reelection

Vice President Sara Duterte endorsed Senator Imee Marcos' bid for reelection, appearing in a video together to express concerns about the country's state.

In a political advertisement, both leaders donned black attire, symbolizing their "mourning" over issues of crime and hunger plaguing the Philippines.

Senator Marcos stated that the nation's color is now black, lamenting the burdens of hunger and crime, adding that "Gutom na ang sikmura, gutom pa sa hustisya. Ginigipit ang hindi ka-alyansa."

Vice President Duterte explicitly urged viewers to vote for Senator Marcos at the end of the advertisement.

The endorsement follows Senator Marcos' withdrawal from the administration's senatorial ticket after investigating the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte, Sara's father, on an International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant.

Senator Marcos denied that the VP's endorsement was a reward for initiating the probe into her father's arrest, suggesting the idea may have come from the former president himself.

Senator Marcos also stated that the "itim" or black concept as a symbol of mourning originated from Vice President Duterte.
