VP Sara Duterte ready to be president if Marcos Jr. steps down

Vice President Sara Duterte has stated she is ready to assume the presidency should President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. step down, emphasizing her understanding of being first in the line of succession.

Her remarks followed calls from progressive groups for Marcos Jr.'s resignation amid a corruption scandal, which has also implicated the president.

Duterte affirmed her commitment to uphold the Constitution and perform her duties as mandated by law.

Malacañang Palace has denied allegations that President Marcos Jr. ordered the insertion of P100 billion into the controversial 2025 national budget.
