VP Sara Duterte questions Marcos Jr. on flood control probe, budget

Vice President Sara Duterte criticized President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for his administration's handling of the flood control corruption scandal, stating the investigation lacks direction and resolve, creating a profound crisis of confidence.

She questioned how the 2025 budget was approved under Marcos' watch, claiming it deprived Filipinos of billions of pesos.

Malacañang, through Presidential Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro, retorted that Duterte should be the one to shed light on corruption issues during her term as education secretary.

Castro added that Duterte should not pretend to be clean if she is not, and not play hero if she is not.

Duterte stated that she understands the people's disappointment and anger because after months of investigations, none of the alleged perpetrators have been charged in court.
