VP Robredo may run for president if Bongbong Marcos vies for the position

Philippine Vice President Leni Robredo stated that the potential return of the Marcoses to Malacañang is a major factor that could push her to run for president in the 2022 elections.

Robredo indicated that she would finalize her presidential bid if she is chosen as the standard-bearer of a united opposition.

Alternatively, the presidential bid of her rival, Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., would also compel her to run.

Robredo expressed her willingness to fight if the election were a one-on-one contest against Marcos Jr., despite her lack of resources.

She specifically stated, "'Yung kung kahit sino ang kalaban, basta ako 'yung pipiliin ng anti-admin forces, laban ako" (Regardless of the opponent, if I would be the one chosen by the anti-admin forces, I would fight).

Robredo emphasized her primary concern is preventing Marcos Jr. from winning, especially if the opposition remains divided.
