VP Robredo jokes about NBI probe into COVID-19 relief efforts

Vice President Leni Robredo humorously dismissed calls for an investigation into her office's COVID-19 relief efforts through a social media post.

Robredo posted an animated GIF of herself flipping her hair with a caption listing previous legal challenges she faced, including an electoral protest, impeachment complaint, sedition case, and indirect contempt, before mentioning the current NBI investigation request.

She sarcastically inquired if a personal appearance or a Zoom call would be necessary for the NBI investigation, citing her heavy workload.

Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) Commissioner Manuelito Luna had earlier called for a probe into Robredo's actions, alleging they might constitute illegal solicitations or efforts to undermine the national government's pandemic response.

Luna suggested that Robredo's office might have violated laws related to disaster response, solicitations, and the protocols set by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).
