VP Sara Duterte to skip Marcos Jr.'s 4th SONA for SK trip

Vice President Sara Duterte will skip President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 28 to attend a Filipino community event in South Korea on July 27.

Duterte stated that she accepted the invitation to personally express her gratitude to Filipinos in South Korea.

She will be traveling back to the Philippines on the day of the SONA, July 28.

This marks the second time Duterte has publicly stated her intention to skip the SONA.

Her decision to skip the SONA follows her departure from Marcos Jr.'s administration last year due to "toxic" relations and disagreements.
