Vivant Energy to supply power to Siquijor for 15 years

Vivant Energy, a power firm owned by Cebu's Garcia-Escaño family, has secured a 15-year contract to supply electricity to the entire province of Siquijor.

The power supply agreement, signed on December 30, will provide electricity from Vivant's diesel plant in Maria, Siquijor to all six municipalities on the island.

This deal follows a competitive selection process won by Vivant Energy and aims to enhance power reliability and ensure long-term energy security for the province.

The agreement comes after Siquijor experienced an electricity crisis in 2025, leading to the revocation of Siquijor Island Power Corp's (SIPCOR) operating permit.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. had previously inaugurated new power plants in Siquijor in September following the crisis.

Vivant Energy, which has been involved in the power sector since the 1900s, stated that it prioritizes serving underserved areas.
