Vico Sotto, Manny Jacinto named Time's 100 most influential rising stars

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto and Filipino-Canadian actor Manny Jacinto have been recognized by Time Magazine as among the 100 most influential rising stars in the list officially titled Time100 Next.

Mayor Vico Sotto was included in the leaders category, with Time commending his fight against corruption and ethical leadership, describing his crusade as a "death by a thousand cuts."

Maria Ressa previously highlighted Sotto's innovative approaches, such as a 24/7 hotline and livestreamed public procurement, which have significantly reduced project costs.

His leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic was also noted, described as courageous, data-driven, direct, and empathetic.

Manny Jacinto was honored in the artists category, with Alan Yang praising his talent and kindness, stating that he is "fundamentally, elementally, constitutionally good."

Jacinto recently starred in "Freakiest Friday," the sequel to the 2003 fantasy-comedy "Freaky Friday."
