Vico Sotto questions Discaya couple's Senate testimony

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto flagged inconsistencies in the testimony of the Discaya couple before the Senate blue ribbon committee.

Sotto stated that the Discayas are "capable of lying" and are attempting to become state witnesses to avoid jail time.

The Discaya couple alleged that they were coerced by officials into participating in anomalous biddings and giving kickbacks for government projects.

Mayor Sotto expressed skepticism regarding Curlee Discaya's claim of a two to three percent profit margin on contract costs, citing their previous statements about being billionaires with at least ₱10 billion in assets.

Sotto highlighted the contradiction between the Discayas' claims of low profit margins and their previously stated immense wealth, adding that "no sane person would do that" and that they have "a different logic in their own universe."
