Valenzuela task force investigates brutal dog tongue mutilation

A task force comprising the Valenzuela City government, police, and the City Veterinary Office has been organized to investigate an animal cruelty case where a dog was found with its tongue brutally cut off.

CCTV footage shows the dog, named Kobe, howling in pain late Tuesday evening, with a light source suggesting a nearby vehicle or motorcycle.

Kobe was discovered bleeding and weak by his family, the Rivera-Zulus, after he escaped from being tied up within their compound.

The dog's severed tongue was found near the family's home, and veterinary examination revealed he tested positive for certain diseases.

Although Kobe's tongue cannot be reattached and he is recovering, he is able to drink water using his snout and requires ongoing care.

The family initially had no suspects, but a witness has come forward stating Kobe was injured in a fight with other dogs.

The police are currently confirming all evidence as their investigation into the incident continues.
