V-League expands to Visayas with top Cebu collegiate teams

The V-League, the Philippines' premier amateur volleyball tournament, is expanding to the Visayas region, set to feature top collegiate teams from Cebu.

The tournament aims to further develop volleyball in the Visayas and provide a platform for players to showcase their talents.

Defending CESAFI champion University of San Carlos and runner-up University of Southern Philippines Foundation Inc. are among the participating teams.

Other competing teams include University of Cebu, University of San Jose-Recoletos, University of the Philippines-Cebu, and Cebu Institute of Technology-University.

Sports Vision Management Group Inc. president Richard Palou highlighted Cebu's history of producing top volleyball stars and the V-League's role in supporting CESAFI tournaments.

V-League Visayas commissioner Ken Ucang emphasized the Visayas' significance as a powerhouse in the national volleyball program and the tournament's importance in giving regional players more opportunities.

The expansion signifies the V-League's commitment to supporting and growing volleyball talent across the Philippines.
