The University of Santo Tomas (UST) will host the opening ceremony for UAAP Season 88 on Friday, September 19, 2025, with the theme 'Strength in Motion, Hope in Action'.

The event, which last saw UST host the UAAP in 2016, is expected to draw around 30,000 attendees to the UST Grandstand and Open Field.

Festivities will begin at 6 p.m. with the 'Thomasian Welcome Walk' for student-athletes, followed by a 'Hope Concert' at 8 p.m. featuring a 'Paskuhan' atmosphere.

The ceremony will include a drone display, fireworks, and the lighting of the cauldron.

The official season song, 'Strength in Motion, Hope in Action,' will be performed by OPM artist Kean Cipriano.

Season 88 president Rev. Fr. Rodel Cansancio stated, 'When strength and hope unite, greatness happens.'

A Eucharistic Celebration was held earlier in the day at 2 p.m. at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion Arena.

The 'Light of Hope' series, featuring light shows illuminating the UST Main Building, concluded the previous night as part of the season's countdown.
