UST secures triple-OT win vs Ateneo, Padrigao scores 20

University of Santo Tomas (UST) guard Forthsky Padrigao led the Growling Tigers to a triple-overtime victory against Ateneo at the Blue Eagle Gym.

Padrigao, returning to his former team, approached the game with a focus on his current team's role rather than personal vendetta, and showed respect by touching the center court.

The game, the first men's basketball doubleheader at the newly renovated Blue Eagle Gym in two decades, went into triple overtime with UST winning 98-89.

Padrigao contributed 20 points, including the game-tying three-pointer that sent the game into the first overtime.

Nic Cabañero scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, while Collins Akowe had 20 points and 19 rebounds in over 51 minutes of play.

Gelo Crisostomo added 18 points and 17 rebounds, making timely shots throughout the overtime periods.
