UAAP: UST off to strong start in defense of women's beach volley title

Pagara and Progella had recently participated in the Asian Senior Beach Volleyball Championship.
NU's team, Honey Grace Cordero and Kat Epa, also had a successful opening day, defeating the University of the Philippines (UP) (21-16, 21-14) and Adamson University (21-17, 21-18).
In other matches, the University of the East (UE) rallied against Ateneo, and Adamson University defeated De La Salle University.
The tournament continues on Saturday with six more matches scheduled.
