UST eyes semis to face Japan, Australia teams in Spikers Turf

The University of Santo Tomas (UST) is aiming for a semifinal spot in the Spikers' Turf Invitational Conference to have a chance to compete against international teams from Japan and Australia.

UST is participating as a replacement for De La Salle University, which had to withdraw due to academic commitments.

Coach Odjie Mamon emphasized the goal of reaching the semifinals where the top four Philippine teams will face guest teams Kindai University of Japan and ProVolley Academy of Australia.

Mamon views this as a unique opportunity for his squad to test their skills against more advanced international competition.

Team captain JJ Macam expressed that the team's confidence has increased with the prospect of facing stronger opponents, motivating them to prove themselves.

Macam also highlighted the team's awareness that they must give their all in training and competition to overcome the superior skills of the foreign teams.
