Luggage firm eyes PH return, plans Bataan factory

PLG Prime Global Co., an American-Taiwanese luggage manufacturer, is considering reviving its operations in the Philippines and plans to establish its next factory in Hermosa, Bataan.

The company previously operated in the Philippines from 2018 to 2022 before transferring its manufacturing to China.

PLG Prime Global aims to resume operations in the Philippines to circumvent reciprocal tariffs and facilitate exports to the US.

They have already reserved a lot at the Hermosa Industrial Park and intend to make larger investments this time, with an application expected within 15 days.

PEZA Director General Tereso Panga highlighted the advantages of the Philippines' CREATE MORE Act and the country's strategic position in Southeast Asia.

The company views the Philippines as a smart investment destination, aligning with the 'China+2' strategy.
