US military Ospreys deliver emergency supplies to Northern Luzon

U.S. military aircraft, including Ospreys and MC-130Js, have been deployed to the Philippines to aid in the delivery of emergency supplies to storm-affected areas in Northern Luzon.

The deployment followed a request from the Philippine government to support the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in their relief operations.

In collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), U.S. Marine Corps Ospreys transported 600 family food packs from Clark Air Base to Basco, Batanes on July 30 and 31.

These operations to assist communities affected by recent tropical cyclones and the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will continue in the coming days.

U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines MaryKay Carlson emphasized the strong alliance between the U.S. and Filipino partners during disaster response efforts.

The reported number of deaths due to the combined effects of the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and tropical cyclones Crising, Dante, and Emong reached 34, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
