UP eyes Final Four with win over UE

The University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons aim to strengthen their Final Four chances against the University of the East (UE) Red Warriors in the UAAP Season 87 men's basketball tournament.

UP, currently at 7-1, is a favorite to repeat over UE, which holds a 5-3 record and had a five-game win streak at one point.

Ateneo Blue Eagles (3-6) and Adamson Falcons (3-6) will also face each other in a key duel in the middle pack.

Ateneo seeks to extend their winning streak to three games when they play Adamson.

UP coach Goldwin Monteverde emphasized that no team in the league should be underestimated.

UP defeated UE soundly in their first-round encounter, but UE has shown significant improvement since then.

The Fighting Maroons could move closer to following the Green Archers (9-1) in the semifinals.
