UP Fighting Maroons defeat Ateneo Blue Eagles 65-60

The University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons avenged their previous loss by defeating the Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles with a score of 65-60 in the UAAP Season 86 Men's Basketball Tournament.

Despite the absence of key players CJ Cansino and the injured JD Cagulangan, the Maroons managed to secure the victory.

Gerry Abadiano was the top scorer for UP with 22 points, supported by Francis Lopez, Harold Alarcon, and Malick Diouf, who each contributed 10 points.

UP's defense was crucial in containing Ateneo, and their offense became more patient as the game progressed.

A crucial defensive stop and subsequent free throws by Abadiano sealed the win for the Fighting Maroons in the final moments of the game.

The game was played in front of a large crowd of 17,406 fans at the Araneta Coliseum.
