Typhoon Odette affects 1.8M Filipinos, causes widespread damage

While the NDRRMC's official death toll is still pending validation, Governor Arthur Yap of Bohol reported at least 63 fatalities in his province alone.

Over 20,102 houses were totally damaged and 34,681 were partially damaged.

The NDRRMC spokesperson Mark Timbal stated that the most affected areas were northeastern Mindanao, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, and Palawan.

As of Monday, December 20, 2021, more than P14.5 million worth of assistance has been provided to affected individuals.

Timbal also confirmed that the power supply and telecommunication sectors are working to speed up the restoration of their services.
