Class suspensions declared in Luzon, Visayas due to Typhoon Marce

Several local government units across Luzon and the Visayas have declared class suspensions on Friday, November 8, in anticipation of or due to the effects of Typhoon Marce.

Abra, Cagayan, Camarines Sur, Dagupan City, Eastern Samar (Salcedo), Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Leyte (Dagami, Tanauan), and Pangasinan (San Fabian, Mapandan, Rosales) are among the areas with suspended classes at all levels.

Some local government units also suspended classes from pre-school to senior high school in both public and private institutions, including Benguet, Baguio City, and various municipalities in Pangasinan.

Public schools in Santa Rita, Samar, also suspended classes to mark the 11th anniversary of Super Typhoon Yolanda.

Typhoon Marce made its second landfall in Cagayan at 9:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Signal No. 4 has been raised over several northern areas, including Cagayan, Babuyan Islands, Apayao, Abra, Ilocos Norte, and Ilocos Sur, indicating the expectation of typhoon-force winds within the next 12 hours.
