Typhoon Emong makes landfall in Pangasinan, eyes second landfall in Ilocos Sur or La Union

Typhoon Emong made its first landfall in Agno, Pangasinan and is now accelerating towards a second landfall, expected in Ilocos Sur or the northern portion of La Union.

As of Friday morning, the typhoon's center was over the coastal waters of Bangar, La Union, packing maximum sustained winds of 120 kph and gustiness of up to 165 kph.

Emong is moving northeastward at 20 km/h, with strong to typhoon-force winds extending up to 260 km from its center.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 4 remains in effect for the southwestern part of Ilocos Sur and the northern and central parts of La Union.

TCWS No. 3 has been raised over additional areas, including parts of Ilocos Norte, Abra, western Mountain Province, western Benguet, the rest of Ilocos Sur and La Union, and the northern portion of Pangasinan.
