Two Thai nationals arrested in Muntinlupa for illegal weapons, surveillance gear

Two Thai nationals, identified as Sorawit, 32, and Nakorn, 38, residents of Bacoor, Cavite, were arrested in Muntinlupa City for alleged possession of firearms, a grenade, and surveillance equipment.

The arrest occurred on March 27 after a rent-a-car driver reported the suspects' suspicious activities and possession of weapons to the Southern Police District (SPD).

Police intercepted the suspects along Biazon Road, Barangay Poblacion, Muntinlupa City, around 12:45 a.m.

Found in their possession were two .45-caliber pistols, two magazines, 16 live ammunition rounds, and one live fragmentation grenade.

Authorities also confiscated three cell phones, assorted IDs, a Thailand passport, and a vehicle.

Surveillance equipment, including a system unit, power supply, router, and a drone, were seized and are undergoing digital forensic examination by the SPD to determine their use.
