Two men arrested with shabu, firearm after police chase in Taguig

Taguig police arrested two men, identified as alias Joel, 36, a delivery worker, and alias Christian, 31, for possession of shabu and an illegal firearm after a police chase in Barangay San Miguel on January 25.

The chase began when police officers spotted the suspects riding a motorcycle along MLQ Street in Barangay Wawa and noticed Christian carrying a firearm.

Additional police personnel joined the pursuit, eventually cornering the suspects near the Serenity Cemetery.

Authorities recovered two sachets of shabu weighing 9.1 grams with an estimated value of P61,880, a .357-caliber revolver with three live ammunition, and a motorcycle.

The suspects will face complaints for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and the Omnibus Election Code.

The complaint will be filed by the police with the Taguig City Prosecutor's Office.
