Two arrested for impersonating Army Commanding General

Two individuals, identified as Antonio Oreño Cerbito and Ariel Oreño, have been arrested in Arayat, Pampanga, for impersonating Philippine Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Roy Galido.

The suspects allegedly operated a scamming group targeting government suppliers by using social media accounts that mimicked the Army chief to demand representation fees.

The joint operation was conducted by the Philippine Army and the PNP-CIDG on February 25, leading to the suspects' apprehension.

Following their arrest, they were taken into custody by the PNP-CIDG and are facing charges including usurpation of authority, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, and possession of illegal drugs.

PA spokesperson Col. Louie Dema-ala stated that the Army has a zero-tolerance policy against fraud and emphasized that no official or representative demands solicitation or monetary requirements for transactions.
