COVID-19 positive person was at NLEX event led by Duterte —Tugade
Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade confirmed that a COVID-19 positive individual was present at the March 5, 2020 inspection of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) Harbor Link C3-R10 section, an event led by President Rodrigo Duterte.
Following this exposure, Tugade is now undergoing self-quarantine.
He joins Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III, Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar, Bases Conversion and Development Authority president Vince Dizon, and Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Benjamin Diokno, who also attended the event and are self-quarantining or undergoing testing.
President Duterte has also opted to undergo testing for COVID-19, despite showing no symptoms.
The NLEx Harbor Link C3-R10 project, intended to ease traffic in northern Metro Manila, is set to open soon.
