Truck collision in Lucena City leaves 4 dead, 8 injured

Four people died and eight others were injured in a truck collision in Lucena City, Quezon on Saturday night.

The incident occurred along Maharlika Highway when a speeding dump truck lost control and hit 11 vehicles before plowing into three houses.

The impact caused at least five vehicles to catch fire.

The fatalities include the tricycle driver and his passenger, Sherwin dela Cruz and Roldan Hernandez, who died at the scene, and Mark Oliver, who was found dead under the rubble of his collapsed house.

Oliver's mother was rescued alive from the rubble and is in critical condition.

The truck driver, William Busa, was rushed to the Quezon Medical Center but died during treatment.

The injured were transported to a local hospital and are receiving treatment.
