Trade Sec. Roque places CIAP, PCAB under direct supervision

Trade Secretary Christina Roque has placed the Construction Industry Association of the Philippines (CIAP) and the Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board (PCAB) under her direct supervision.

This move aims to ensure order, transparency, and accountability following allegations of conflicts of interest and accreditation irregularities within PCAB.

Doris U. Gacho and Engr. Sergie T. Retome have been appointed as Acting Executive Directors of CIAP and PCAB, respectively, to ensure continuity of operations during the revamp.

Secretary Roque is also recommending new members for the PCAB Board for final appointment by the President.

An Oversight and Fact-Finding Management Team has been created within the DTI to coordinate investigations and responses regarding PCAB licensing concerns.

The DTI Secretary emphasized the commitment to due process, transparency, and good governance to safeguard public interest and maintain stakeholder confidence.
