Korean Joo Daeyoung wins Tour of Luzon

The Tour of Luzon, a challenging 1,074.9-kilometer race that traversed various locations, concluded on Friday with its eighth and final leg, an uphill climb via Kennon Road to Camp John Hay in Baguio.

Following a five-year hiatus, the race marked a "Great Revival" and achieved significant social media milestones, reaching 102 million organic views across all digital platforms in less than two months.

Korean Joo Daeyoung was crowned the individual champion, winning the P1 million prize by six seconds over runner-up Joshua Pascual, despite facing a flat rear tire in the final stage.

Event organizer DuckWorld, led by president Patrick Gregorio, expressed gratitude to sports patron Manny V. Pangilinan and MPTC for their crucial support, highlighting the deep passion Filipinos have for cycling.

Gregorio noted the impressive growth in social media presence, with 100,000 Facebook followers and a million TikTok likes, reinforcing the resurgence of cycling in the Philippines.
