Tonyboy Liao elected new PNVF president for 2025-27 term

Anthony "Tonyboy" Liao has been elected as the new Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) president for the 2025-27 term, succeeding Ramon "Tats" Suzara.

Liao, who also chairs the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), previously headed the National Teams Commission and has been a PNVF board member since 2021.

Dr. Arnel Hajan is the new PNVF chairman, Yul Benoza is vice president, and Otie Camangian is secretary general, with Ricky Palou as treasurer and Roger Banzuela as auditor.

The PNVF board members include Charo Soriano, Fr. Vic Calvo, Michael Angelo Vargas, Sherwin Maganda, Danilo Cong-o, Edward Lee, and Ma. Socorro Calleja.

Liao's first major task is to address the preparation of the Alas Pilipinas women's team for the upcoming 33rd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Thailand.

Despite a submitted 14-strong lineup, concerns remain about the team's adequate preparation time due to infrequent complete practices.

Notable players in the roster include Jia De Guzman, Angel Canino, Shaina Nitura, Eya Laure, Vanie Gandler, Bella Belen, Dell Palomata, Alleiah Malaluan, Leila Cruz, and Dawn Macandili-Catindig.
