TNT Tropang Giga routs Meralco Bolts to take solo Group A lead

The defending champion TNT Tropang Giga secured their second consecutive victory by defeating Meralco Bolts with a dominant 93-73 score, taking sole possession of the lead in Group A of the PBA Governors' Cup.

After trailing by two points at halftime, TNT rallied in the third quarter, outscoring Meralco 31-16 to establish a lead they maintained until the end of the game.

TNT's coach Chot Reyes attributed the win to their strategy of staying close in the first half, despite the team experiencing fatigue from a previous hard-fought game.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson led TNT with a stellar performance, recording a double-double with 25 points and 12 rebounds, complemented by eight assists, three steals, and three blocks.

Rey Nambatac added 16 points, seven rebounds, and one assist for TNT.

Chris Banchero scored 18 points for Meralco, which fell to a 1-1 record, and made a four-point shot for the second consecutive game.
