DOTr: 3 Dalian train sets deployed in MRT-3 starting December 25
Three sets of three-car China-made Dalian trains will be deployed on the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) starting December 25, 2025.
The deployment aims to accommodate more passengers during the holiday rush.
DOTr Acting Secretary Giovanni Lopez and MRT-3 General Manager Mike Capati recently rode one of these trains during a test.
The other two sets of Dalian trains are expected to undergo testing this December.
Lopez ordered MRT-3 to continue implementing strict safety checks and utilization procedures for the Dalian trains.
Each car of the Dalian train can load 1,156 passengers.
