The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping teaser reveals Haymitch's origins

The first teaser for "The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping" has been released, introducing the film's new tributes and delving into the origins of Haymitch Abernathy.

The film is set during the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell, a brutal competition that doubled the number of tributes from each district.

Newcomer Joseph Zada plays a young Haymitch Abernathy, whose experiences in the Games will shape his later distrust of the Capitol.

The trailer also features McKenna Grace as Maysilee Donner, Ben Wang as Wyatt Callow, and Molly McCann as Louella McCoy as Haymitch's fellow tributes.

Whitney Peak portrays Lenore Dove Baird, Haymitch's girlfriend, and Elle Fanning reprises her role as Effie Trinket.

The prequel also includes Ralph Fiennes as President Snow and Jesse Plemons as Plutarch Heavensbee, with direction by Francis Lawrence.

"The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping," based on Suzanne Collins' 2023 novel, is scheduled for release on November 20, 2026.
