Terrafirma selects Geo Chiu first overall in PBA Season 50 Draft

Terrafirma selected 6-foot-9 big man Geo Chiu as the first overall pick in the PBA Season 50 Draft.

Chiu, who has international experience, will miss the start of the PBA season due to his commitment with the MPBL team Abra Weavers, with their season expected to last until December.

Converge selected Juan Gomez de Liaño second overall, followed by Blackwater choosing Dalph Panopio third.

NorthPort took Chris Koon at fourth and NLEX selected L-Jay Gonzales at fifth.

The franchise is reportedly up for sale and is coming off a dismal season where it won only three of 30 games.

Chiu has not averaged double-figure points in his previous playing history, but coach Ronald Tubid will give him opportunities to prove himself.

Terrafirma also drafted nine other rookie hopefuls, including Shawn Umali, and has several players gone from the roster.
