DND, AFP denounce Chinese agents posing as journalists at Shangri-La Dialogue

Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. and Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff General Romeo Brawner Jr. denounced individuals they identified as Chinese intelligence agents posing as journalists at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore.

These individuals questioned Teodoro about the Philippines being a proxy of the United States, which he denied.

Teodoro asserted that the Philippines is not a proxy and engaged in a debate with them, accusing them of territorial aggression.

He expressed concern that the narrative might be twisted despite his direct refutation.

Teodoro also highlighted that Beijing did not have official delegates present at the defense conference, instead sending intelligence agents disguised as journalists.
