Teacher shot by husband in Leyte school over alleged jealousy

A public school teacher in Tanauan, Leyte, was shot by her husband on Thursday morning at the Tanauan School of Craftsmanship and Home Industries due to alleged jealousy and infidelity.

The 48-year-old victim sustained a gunshot wound to her right shoulder and was brought to a hospital in Tacloban City for treatment.

The 46-year-old suspect, who reportedly had separated from the victim, was apprehended by police after attempting to harm himself with a fan knife.

Authorities recovered the .38 caliber revolver used in the shooting and the fan knife.

The suspect is in police custody and faces a charge of frustrated parricide.
