Taguig City promotes biking with business sector partnership

Taguig City is promoting biking as an alternative transportation mode by partnering with the business sector to expand bike-friendly facilities and incentives for cyclists.

The city government will collaborate with businesses to create protected bike lanes, and provide amenities such as showers, restrooms, and bike racks.

Workplaces will also be encouraged to offer incentives or subsidies for employees who choose to bike.

A bike-lending program will be introduced for city hall employees, law enforcers, and public health workers.

Essential workers have already received bicycles to aid in their duties.

The city previously launched 3.5 kilometers of bike lanes along Mercado del Lago, Lakeshore Area, and C6 Road in Barangay Lower Bicutan, equipped with LED lights.

Additionally, the 5.8-kilometer Laguna Lake Highway bike lane, launched in February 2019, serves as a protected route for cyclists commuting or practicing.
