NAIA crash driver posts P100,000 bail

The driver involved in the fatal car crash at NAIA Terminal 1 earlier this month, identified as 47-year-old Leo Gonzales from Batangas, has been released on P100,000 bail.

Judge Christian Castañeda of Pasay Regional Trial Court Branch 109 ordered Gonzales' release after he posted bail.

Gonzales faces charges of reckless imprudence resulting in two counts of homicide, multiple physical injuries, and damage to property.

The incident on May 4, 2025, killed Dearick Keo Faustino, 29, and Malia Masongsong, 5, and critically injured Malia's father, Danmark.

Faustino's father expressed his disappointment over the court's decision, stating, "It's painful for us because after what he did, he ended up just like that."

The Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group disclosed that Gonzales was released to his live-in partner after medical examinations showed no external signs of injury.
