P2.7M shabu seized in Iloilo City drug bust

Three suspected high-value drug pushers were arrested in Iloilo City on Tuesday, October 29, with authorities confiscating approximately P2.7 million worth of suspected shabu.

The operation, conducted by the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), resulted in the seizure of 400 grams of illegal substance.

The arrested individuals were identified as Hyder John Angcayan, his live-in partner Sharei Mae Tolentino, and cousin Anton John Angcayan, all residents of Jaro District.

Hyder John Angcayan and Anton John Angcayan, who were previously arrested in 2019 for similar offenses and released in 2022, reportedly have direct contact with individuals inside the National Bilibid Prison.

The suspects were under surveillance for two weeks following the arrest of their cousin, who was also involved in illegal drugs and from whom over one kilogram of shabu was seized.

Sharei Mae Tolentino is responsible for collecting the illegal items shipped from Manila, while the other two suspects handle repacking and delivery.

The suspects are now facing charges related to illegal drug offenses.
