SSS offers calamity loan assistance for Typhoon Carina victims

The Social Security System (SSS) is offering calamity loan assistance to members affected by Typhoon Carina in the National Capital Region and other areas that may be declared under a state of calamity.

Members in typhoon-stricken areas can borrow a loan equivalent to their one monthly salary credit, with a maximum of P20,000.

SSS President and CEO Rolando Macasaet assured members of the SSS's readiness to provide financial assistance during recovery.

To qualify, members must have at least 36 monthly contributions, be residing in a declared calamity area, be under 65 years old, and have no final benefit claims or past due short-term loans.

The loan proceeds will be credited to the member's registered UMID-ATM Card or their active accounts with a PESONet participating bank.

Qualified members can pay the calamity loan in two years or 24 equal monthly installments with a 10% annual interest rate.

Interested members can apply for the calamity loan through their My.SSS account on the SSS website.
