Sputnik V doses to be distributed to 5 Metro Manila cities

The initial 15,000 doses of Russia's Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine will be distributed to five cities in Metro Manila that have the necessary cold storage facilities.

Health Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje identified the recipient cities as Makati, Taguig, Muntinlupa, Manila, and Parañaque, with each city receiving 3,000 doses.

These cities were selected due to their capability to maintain the required -18 degrees Celsius temperature for storing the Sputnik V vaccine.

Cabotaje emphasized the critical need for proper cold chain management, as the vaccine has a limited usability period once removed from its ultra-cold storage.

Parañaque City, in collaboration with the private sector, will conduct vaccine simulations using 2,000 doses scheduled for Monday, May 3.
