Undersecretary Castro clarifies 'obstructionist' remark

Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro clarified that her earlier statement about "obstructionists" was not directed at any specific lawmaker but was a general appeal for cooperation with the administration's programs.

Senator Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa had interpreted Castro's remark as a warning to senators and questioned her authority.

Castro used the Filipino idiom "bato-bato sa langit, ang tamaan ay huwag magalit" (if the shoe fits, don't get angry) in response to Dela Rosa's sensitivity.

She emphasized that the administration welcomes legitimate opposition but will stand against those who hinder the President's projects and programs.

Castro stated that the administration did not threaten any senator and urged public officials to move beyond political bickering for national development.
