Sotto: File ethics complaint vs Dela Rosa

Senate President Vicente Sotto III advised critics of Senator Bato dela Rosa's prolonged absence to file an ethics complaint for accountability.

Dela Rosa has been skipping Senate sessions for nearly a month due to an alleged arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

This absence has led to other senators, like finance committee chair Sherwin Gatchalian, having to defend budgets assigned to Dela Rosa, such as the Department of National Defense budget.

Sotto clarified that a "no work, no pay" policy does not apply to legislators, and attempting to implement such a rule would be unlikely.

He stated that Dela Rosa continues to receive his salary as it has already been allotted.

Sotto also mentioned that the Senator's office continues to function despite his absence.
