LTFRB suspends Solid North bus fleet for 30 days after fatal SCTEX crash

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has suspended the entire fleet of Solid North Transit Inc. for 30 days following a fatal crash on the SCTEX.

The accident, involving a Solid North bus and four other vehicles near the Tarlac exit toll plaza, resulted in the deaths of ten victims, including four children, and injured 37 others.

In response to a directive from the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Solid North has halted all of its operations.

The bus company has stated it understands the severity of the situation and will be responsible and accountable for the incident.

LTFRB spokesperson Atty. Ariel Inton confirmed the suspension order was issued on Friday.

Representatives of the bus company have reached out to the victims of the crash.

The suspension order requires Solid North to conduct road safety seminars for drivers, mandatory drug tests, and roadworthiness inspections for their units.
