San Miguel Corporation (SMC) will open new lanes on the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) in the third week of December to decongest traffic.
The expansion covers a 29-kilometer stretch from Susana Heights in Muntinlupa to Calamba, Laguna, adding two lanes in both directions.
SMC President and CEO Ramon Ang stated that the new lanes will significantly reduce traffic buildup during the holiday rush, providing motorists with faster trips.
Construction on the section from Calamba to Sto. Tomas, Batangas, and the expansion of some 20 bridges connecting to the SLEX main carriageway, will be completed by July 2025.
SMC has also installed automatic license plate reading cameras at toll plazas to reduce traffic congestion.
