Pangasinan Link Expressway breaks ground
San Miguel Corporation (SMC) and the provincial government of Pangasinan have initiated the construction of the 76.80-kilometer Pangasinan Link Expressway (PLEX).
The project, which involves a toll concession and joint venture agreement sealed in October last year, will begin at the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX) exit in Binalonan.
SMC will finance the entire construction cost, ensuring no financial burden on the national or provincial governments.
San Miguel president and CEO Ramon Ang highlighted the project's significance in affirming SMC's commitment to Pangasinan and its potential to create more jobs and business opportunities.
The PLEX is planned in two phases, with Phase 1 covering 42.76 kilometers from TPLEX to Lingayen, and Phase 2 extending to Alaminos, Pangasinan.
Phase 1 is further divided into three segments and includes a spur road in Calasiao.
